Thanks for trying SaveText!!
I hope you'll find it useful and easy to use.
To get started, just copy ST.EXE to a subdirectory in your PATH. Type ST,
press Enter and you're off and running. If you have a monochrome monitor
on a color system or an LCD screen, type ST /b for black & white video
instead. For more details on the operation and options of SaveText,
refer to STXT120.DOC.
There has been a change in several of the filenames in this archive since
version 1.01 - to avoid confusion with Screen Thief, which is often in an
archive named ST*.*, I have renamed the appropriate files to read
STXT*.*; this should help minimize any confusion. Any references to a
ZIP file extension is assuming that this archive is compressed with
PKWare's PKZIP. In the course of "distribution" through the BBS community,
other methods may be used and this file can end up with different extension.
Files in STXT120.ZIP:
ST.EXE SaveText executable file (this is all you really need
to run SaveText)
STXT120.DOC SaveText documentation
FILE_ID.DIZ Description file used by PC-Board BBS systems
LOWASCII.TXT Demonstration of what can happen when files contain
low-ASCII characters
REGISTER.DOC Registration details (also found in ST120.DOC)
ST.ICO Icon file for Windows 3.1
WHATS.NEW Brief outline of new features, bug fixes, etc.
README.1ST This file
INHALF.EXE Text file splitter utility
INHALF.DOC InHalf documentation
Distribution and uploading of SaveText to bulletin board systems (BBS) is
encouraged and appreciated, but please make sure all the above files are
contained, unmodified in the archive that's uploaded. No modification,
decompiling or reverse-engineering of any kind is allowed. The archive
file should be named STXT120.xxx, where xxx is the extension commonly used
by the archiving utility, i.e., ZIP, ARJ, ZOO, LZH, ARC, PAK, etc.
